Gas Supply, Producer Services, and Transportation

Gas Supply and Producer Services procure safe, reliable, cost-effective supplies for Sales customers. They also work closely with the Transportation Services group to ensure the integrity of our system, while coordinating the list of Natural Gas Suppliers who move supplies into and out of our market.

Gas Supply

The Gas Supply team acquires, administers, and manages the gas supply and interstate transportation for Peoples, Peoples PTWP, Peoples WV, and Peoples KY, in order to meet the short term and long term requirements of our customers.

Daily Supply Plan

Peoples

The Peoples daily gas supply plan delineates which supply, storage, and transportation assets the Gas Supply team will utilize to meet the forecasted load requirements of their customers.

Peoples Equitable

The Peoples Equitable daily gas supply plan delineates which supply, storage, and transportation assets the Gas Supply team will utilize to meet the forecasted load requirements of their customers.

Peoples TWP

The Peoples TWP daily gas supply plan delineates which supply, storage, and transportation assets the Gas Supply team will utilize to meet the forecasted load requirements of their customers.

Daily Sendout

Peoples Companies Daily Sendout Report represents companies' daily throughput. This estimate is based upon preliminary numbers from Interstate Pipelines as well as local production. These numbers are subject to change when final monthly volumes are processed.

Storage

Peoples Companies Contract and Company owned storage inventory. Currently we are in the injection season and plan to fill Contract storage to a level of 97% full by October 31, 2016.

Weather

Local Weather data is used to calculate the daily Heating Degree Days. This is then incorporated into the daily planning files to formulate the companies daily burn.

Gastar Access Request Form

Transportation

The Transportation and Requirements Department is responsible for managing Natural Gas Suppliers (NGS) and their daily gas deliveries on the various Peoples LDC systems. We ensure that NGS are following the policies established in our tariffs and have the resources they need to transport natural gas effectively to their customers.

Our group is also responsible for developing Peoples' natural gas requirement forecasts, which are used for Long Range Financial Forecasts, Gas Supply plans, regulatory filings, and Energy Choice Programs.

Transportation Responsibilities

Some of the principal activities performed by the Transportation and Requirements Department include:

Manage transportation / pooling processes, including nominations, local production, balancing, and imbalance resolution in order to ensure accurate gas flow.
Propose and implement Transportation Program enhancements designed to achieve productivity and operational efficiencies for both Peoples and NGS.
Maintain daily communication and relationships with Natural Gas Suppliers and key business partners.
Analyze and resolve any billing or nomination issues with the Suppliers.
Update and maintain all PNG contract / negotiated and Energy Choice Rates in SAP.
Conduct Regression Analysis to determine Peoples' Design Day requirements.
Prepare and support PUC filings and interrogatories.
Support Peoples' position and objectives in the Statewide Energy Choice Rule Making Initiatives.
